Climate protesters block City Centre, Edinburgh, 16 April 2019

Pictured: Into the evening there was still a hard core of protesters, heavily outnumbered by police, who refused to move. At 8.15pm a senior police officer issued an order to disperse, and the protesters were then allowed to leave in pairs.

Extinction Rebellion Scotland hosted a demo in which protestors were encouraged to block traffic on North Bridge, Edinburgh, in a bid to highlight the climate change issue, as part of a co-ordinated nationwide action.
