A Singular Deception at Edinburgh Fringe Festival at McEwan Hall/Old Medical School in Edinburgh, Scotland on 29 June 2024. Dr James Barry (Jac Wheble), Black John (Kenneth Brangman) appear with playwright Hilary Spiers at McEwan Hall/Old Medical School where Dr James Barry qualified in 1812 to mark the premiere of the new play. Dr James Barry graduated from the University of Edinburgh’s Medical School rising to the highest medical rank of the British Army. Dr James Barry was in fact the first woman in the UK to be issued a medical licence. The world premiere is on at The Royal Scots Club.
