East Lothian, Scotland, UK, NHS Lothian & Muirfield Riding Therapy celebrate 10 years of Hippotherapy:Physiotherapist Heather Falconer pioneered The Children’s Therapeutic Riding Service providing therapeutic riding free of charge to children and adults with disabilities. The service was the first in Scotland. Children with mobility, balance, muscle tone and coordination problems benefit. Oreo, a mechanical horse, allows youngsters to receive fun physiotherapy. Charlie Kay, aged 13 years who has been a participant since the beginning of the project, rides Oreo.
