Stone Labyrinth on Portobello Beach, Edinburgh, UK on 02 June 2024

Portobello resident Eilis Doherty organised some of her neighbours and a few willing passers-by to help her to construct a stone labyrinth on Portobello beach this afternnon. The labyrinth (unlike a maze it has no dead ends, only a single route to the centre) is inspired by other meditative labyrinths, notably the one in Chartres cathedral and, closer to home, the one in George Square. Eilis on left, emptying wheelbarrow.
