Spokes Porty, the local Spokes group in Portobello, organised a Safe Routes to School event this morning for primary school children in Portobello, Edinburgh. They were joined on the school run by local MSP, Ash Denham, local councillors Mary Campbell and Maureen Child and Strider, the Living Streets Scotland mascot. The 'walking bus' made its way from Portobello High Street vis St Johns Primary School to finish at Duddingston Primary School where participants could get some breakfast! The event is part of a weekend of local activities organised by the cycling campaign group Pedal on Parliament instead of their annual mass cycle ride to the Scottish Parliament, focussing on local issues across Scotland.
