Pictured: Latvia's Honary Consul to Scotland, John McGregor

Late sculptor who survived concentration camp horror. Latvian Zigfrids Sapietis settled and worked in Newbattle, Midlothian, until his death aged 90 in 2014. His widow, Paula, today unveiled one of his works, Tree of Life, which she has gifted to Newbattle Abbey College. Latvia's Honary Consul to Scotland, John McGregor and Dr Alasdair Allan, MSP, Minister for International Development and Europe were among the invited guests.
