Children’s Minister Maree Todd visited the APS distribution centre in Edinburgh where the baby boxes are printed, filled and distributed, to meet the young people behind the new baby box design.  The winning design was created by young people from Macduff, Auchterarder, Barrhead, Kilmacolm and Edinburgh as a result of a nationwide Young Scot competition celebrating the Year of Young People.<br />

Ms Todd presented an award to the winning design team and unveiled the redesigned baby box.<br />

Humza Yousaf, MSP, minister for Transport and the Islands joined the Edinburgh Community Safety Partnership as they officially launched Edinburgh’s Transport Charter aimed at eradicating hate crime on all forms of transport in the city. Each of the organisations involved with the partnership will outline their approach to responding to incidents.  The launch will be followed by two days of action where representatives will be in transport hubs, promoting an understanding of hate crime, raising awareness of the charter and how to report unacceptable behaviours. Police Scotland visited Craigroyston High Schoolto today to host motorcycle safety seminar at the secondary school. The event looked at motorbike/vehicle misuse and the consequences involved after 50 students from the school were identified as potentially being involved in such activities. One of the school's 14 year old pupils, Bradley Williams died recently in a motorcycle accident recently and some of his relatives were their to plead with the students to be aware of the dangers of going on bikes with out the appropriate training and licences.<br />

<br />
Anti-Heathrow third runway campaigner Neil Keveren, 50, arrives outside the Scottish Parliament after walking nearly 400 miles in protest at SNP backing for a third runway at the London airport. Neil walked on average 20 miles a day since 4 April with his support van givimg him a target to aim for each day.  Some of the residents on the flight path for the new runway have been there for over 40 years and many for all of their lives.  Flights arrive every three minutes between 4 and 5 am with the frequency increasing to every 90 seconds after 5am.<br />

The event looked at motorbike/vehicle misuse and the consequences involved after 50 students from the school were identified as potentially being involved in such activities. One of the school's 14 year old pupils, Bradley Williams died recently in a motorcycle accident recently and some of his relatives were their to plead with the students to be aware of the dangers of going on bikes with out the appropriate training and licences.<br />
