Police in Midlothian are investigating a serious assault on a 36-year-old man in Penicuik. The incident happened around 2am on Monday 3rd September in the High Street area of the town. The victim was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries.  Police are following a positive line of enquiry.<br />

Armed officers and dog units from Police Scotland and ambulances from the Scottish Ambulance service were called to attend an incident at Beeslack Community School in Penicuik this morning. Major Incident uinits from the ambulance service were seen heading to the school around 9:30 on Monday 16 July 2018.  The armed  and dog units were stood down atr 10:00 with the ambulances still in situ.  No casualties were reported from the incident.  <br />

Road teams including the likes of  Ricky Liddle, Przemyslaw Baczyk, Kev Wright, Mickey Kennedy, Jakos Targosz and Digger driver John Taylor first rip up the damanged pavement; flatten the base and reinstate with hot tar before the steam roller enures the pavement is flat and safe.<br />
