The People Politics Hustings, organised by the Church of Scotland, allowed voters to question SNP deputy John Swinney, Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie, Scottish Greens co-convener Patrick Harvie and former Scottish Conservatives leader Annabel Goldie ahead of the Scottish Elections. Before the politicians had a chance to speak they had a chance to listen to five speakers with different viewpoints on how Scotland has supported them in the past and how it should support them in the future..
A Rite of Canonical Indictment & Excommunication of Donald J.Trump is performed by the Order of Perpetual Indulgence and will is conducted by Sister Ann Tici Pation OPI. Similar ceremonies are being performed throughout the world by OPI members.

The text and structure of this excommunication rite is adapted from one introduced by the Pope Zachary in the 8th Century, as described in the Pontificale Romanum and practiced up until the Second Vatican Council in 1962. The ceremony traditionally involved a bishop, with twelve priests with candles, and is solemnly pronounced in some suitably conspicuous place. The bishop would then pronounce the formula of the anathema. After the pronouncement, the bishop would then ring a bell, close a holy book, and the assisting priests would snuff out their candles by dashing them to the ground, and thus was born the expression "by bell, book and candle".
The Sisters and Brothers of the Order of Perpetual Indulgence are part of a worldwide order of queer people of all sexualities. Formed around 1979 in response to attacks on the queer community by fundamentalist religious organisations, its tenets are:
The expiation of stigmatic guilt, and
The promulgation of universal joy.

 • Alex Salmond local election campaign, Bathgate, 29 April 2022

Former First Minister and ALBA Party Leader Alex Salmond is hitting the campaign trail in the final week before polling day in the Scottish Council Elections on 5 May.

Mr Salmond is taking the message that ALBA is the catalyst for change in this Election.

Mr Salmond said “It is votes for ALBA and ALBA councillors elected that will force the real change people want to see in this election.”

Mr Salmond is highlighting the real action which ALBA is prosing to tackle the cost of living crisis including:

- Increasing the Scottish Child Payment to £40 per week

- Extending Free School meals and introducing Free Breakfasts for every nursery, primary and secondary school child

- Providing half a million low earnings households with an annual £500 payment

Mr Salmond was in Bathgate promoting the “Wee ALBA Book”. He was joined by ALBA candidates for West Lothian Council Gordon Dent (Bathgate), Hassan Mohamed (Fauldhouse and Breich Valley and Phil Noble (Broxburn/Uphall/Winchburgh).

Alex Salmond told the audience: “ALBA success will be the catalyst for change in this Election. It is votes for ALBA and ALBA councillors elected that will force the real change people want to see.

With no council expected to have a single party with overall control after 5th May, the role of ALBA’s councillors in pushing for change can be the critical factor when it comes to councils and the Scottish Government doing more to help families navigate the cost of living crisis.

“ALBA councillors in Inverclyde have already delivered a £500 annual payment for low income families, but with more ALBA councillors elected, we can go even further and extend this payment to half a million low earnings households across the country.

“Increasing the Scottish Child Payment to £40 per week will benefit 400,000 children across a quarter of a million households while extending free School meals and introducing free
• Richard Leonard has resigned as Scottish Labour leader, saying it is in the best interests of the party for him to stand down.

Mr Leonard said he believed speculation about his leadership had become a "distraction".

And he said he would be stepping down with immediate effect. Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard said: “Scotland needs a Labour government now more than ever before. Our National Health Service and public services are at breaking point under the strain of an out-of-control pandemic. Covid is rampant, claiming lives, and striking down so many of our fellow citizens, who are grievously suffering from this awful virus. Workers’ incomes are being squeezed like never before, with job losses rife and businesses going bust. Too many employees go to work day-in and day-out, night-in and night-out leaving them vulnerable to the virus.

“Both Governments have mishandled its response to Covid, with devastating consequences not least in our care homes. It is essential now that we have an accelerated vaccine roll out – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – to ensure that the most vulnerable and frontline workers are protected against Covid, and that the general population is given greater protection as quickly as possible after that.

“I have thought long and hard over the Christmas period about what this crisis means, and the approach Scottish Labour takes to help tackle it. I have also considered what the speculation about my leadership does to our ability to get Labour’s message across. This has become a distraction.

“I have come to the conclusion it is in the best interests of the party that I step aside as leader of Scottish Labour with immediate effect. This was not an easy decision, but after three years I feel it is the right one for me and for the Party.

“I want to thank all those people who placed their hopes in me, and who worked with me in good times and bad. This experience and the great people I have met will live with
