As part of the FAF 100 celebrations the relay team carrying a baton round the country arrived in Edinburgh, where they paraded up the Royal Mile and were met at Edinburgh Castle by the Lord Provost Frank Ross.<br />

Rear Admiral Sir Anthony Miers. Born in 1906 in Inverness, the son of an Army Captain killed in First World War.<br />
Rear Admiral Sir Anthony Cecil Capel Miers, VC, KBE, CB, DSO & Bar (11 November 1906 – 30 June 1985) was a Royal Navy officer, who served in the submarine service during the Second World War. He was a Scottish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was involved in two incidents alleged to be war crimes while commanding HMS Torbay.

A ceremony at the City Chambers for the recipient of this year's award, Ken Buchanan, who was presented with a Loving Cup by the Lord Provost. He was also reunited with his hand-prints which have been set in a flagstone within the grounds of the City Chambers and see his name etched on the city’s Edinburgh Award honour board.<br />
